From theEthanolSource.com

Overview

Alcohols are any of the class of organic compound in which a hydroxyl group (OH) is bound to a carbon atom of an alky group. Methanol, ethanol, and propanol are examples of alcohols. In common vernacular, alcohol usually refers to ethanol, as it is the chemical responsible for inebriation.
